Apply the mark when the image is delivered, not when it is uploaded, and cache the marked variant. Burning the mark into the stored file at upload means changing the logo requires reprocessing every asset ever uploaded.

Always keep the unmarked original, and serve it to the owner and to anyone with an explicit right to the clean file. Reuse the app's existing secure download path to decide who that is.

Size and position the mark as a proportion of the image rather than in fixed pixels, so it reads the same on a small thumbnail and on a large photograph.

Decide explicitly what happens to the original metadata: strip location and camera data on public delivery, or preserve it, but make it a stated choice rather than whatever the encoder happens to do.

Do not treat this as copy protection. A watermark deters casual reuse and nothing more, so do not build access rules that assume the marked image cannot be cropped or edited.

8- A mark sized in fixed pixels dominates a thumbnail and disappears on a large photo. Scale it as a percentage of the shorter edge and set a floor so it stays legible.
- The owner must always be able to retrieve the clean file. Store the original untouched and gate access to it through the app's existing per-file permission checks.
- A dark mark vanishes on a dark photo and a light one vanishes on a bright sky. Sample the region under the mark and choose a treatment, or add a subtle shadow or outline so it survives both.
- Applying the mark on upload freezes it forever. Generate marked variants on delivery and cache them, and invalidate that cache whenever the mark, its position, or its opacity changes.
- Uploaded photos carry location, device, and timestamp metadata that should usually not be published. Decide deliberately whether the delivered variant strips or preserves it, and apply the same rule everywhere.
- Generating a marked variant on the first request adds latency to that request. Serve a placeholder or the pending state rather than a broken image, and warm the common sizes.
- The mark must not obscure the subject of every image by default. Offer a position choice and a default that sits in a corner with a margin.
- Marked variants must respect the same access rules as the original. A public marked URL must not become a way to enumerate private assets.

How it works
- 1 Add the control to the app's existing video player rather than building a separate popped-out player. Two players competing over the same element is the main way this feature goes wrong.
- 2 Keep the app in sync with the floating window in both directions. Pausing, seeking, or changing volume from the floating window must update the in-page player, and closing the floating window must return playback to the page at the same position.
- 3 Decide explicitly what happens when the user navigates away from the page that owns the video. Either keep the floating window alive and reconnect when they return, or end it cleanly, but do not leave a floating window playing a video the app has forgotten about.

What it does
A waveform rendered from precomputed amplitude data, doubling as the seek control on the audio player.
How it works
- 1 Compute the amplitude data on the server when the file is first stored, and serve it as a small dataset the page can draw. Do not decode the audio in the browser to build the waveform.
- 2 Replace the plain scrub bar in the app's existing Audio Player with this surface rather than adding a second seek control beside it.
- 3 Draw played and unplayed regions distinctly, and keep the playhead position exact under click, drag, and keyboard seeking on the same surface.

Hovering a video card plays a short silent clip so people see what it is before clicking.
What it does
A silent, short-loop preview that plays inside a video card on deliberate hover and returns to the poster on exit.
How it works
- 1 Generate a short, low-resolution, silent preview clip during video processing and store it alongside the poster frame. Do not play the full source file behind the card.
- 2 Require a deliberate hover before doing anything. Wait several hundred milliseconds after the pointer settles, then load, so a cursor crossing a grid does not fire a dozen requests.
- 3 Give touch devices an explicit preview control on the card, since hover does not exist there. A long-press or a small preview button is fine; silently doing nothing on mobile is not.
